Friends say they don't recognize him without a guitar strapped on, as Dan Doiron has been addicted to the raw energy of the electric guitar since he formed his first band at age 13 in Port Hood, Cape Breton, Canada. A blazing spitfire guitarist, Dan fuses potent guitar riffs and grooves with unique lyrics reflecting his views on everyday life ensuring an emotional, thrilling musical ride at every band and solo show. He’s profoundly committed to the music, crafting his own style that draws upon over forty years of his traditional and modern guitar studies and experiences, as a musician, songwriter, music educator (B.MUS.Ed from Dalhousie University with a major in classical guitar), National guitar clinician, (Roland Canada and Blues in Schools), and recording engineer.

After many years as a sideman, in 2011 Dan stepped out as a solo recording artist, earning both East Coast Music Award and Music Nova Scotia nominations for his debut CD, “Even My Guitar Is In Love With You”. A torrential body of work has followed and his fourth album “Livin’ Centre Stage” is being released in early 2018. In October 2017 Dan and his band won the East Coast Blues Society’s “Maritimes to Memphis” competition for a second time, awarding them the honour of representing Atlantic Canada at the worlds’ largest Blues competition, the International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis. “We are so pumped to be returning to this huge blues competition in the birthplace of the blues and are excited to introduce songs from the new album...”

Dan Doiron - 2 albums: Even My Guitar Is In Love With You / From Deep Inside

Music has been Dan Doiron's life since his first band in Junior High school, in Port Hood on Cape Breton. He's been involved in the music industry in Atlantic Canada ever since as a musician, music educator, studio owner and recording engineer. After spending 20 years recording other people's music Dan thought it was about time to record an album of his own material. For many years he played in touring cover bands, performing mainly in Atlantic Canada. His first recording was on the Halifax Q104 Homegrown Album in 1990 with his band called "The Issue". After that experience he got the recording bug and built a recording studio in Truro Nova Scotia, where he had settled. Over the next several years he continued to perform, but mainly focused on engineering other artist's recording projects. Dan has been very influenced by great guitar players like Robben Ford and Larry Carlton, who perform with more emotion than flash and who are most interested in the Groove.

A blazing spitfire guitarist with a six-string wall of sound who combines traditional and modern blues influences to create his driving sound and energetic show. Dan Doiron has been addicted to the raw energy of the electric guitar since he formed his first band at age 13 in Port Hood, Cape Breton. In fact some people say they don't recognize him without a guitar strapped on. His unique sound reflects his diverse background in rock, blues and classical guitar.
For over 20 years he has been involved in the music industry in Atlantic Canada as a musician, music educator,(B.MUS.Ed from Dalhousie University with a major in classical guitar), National guitar clinician and recording engineer.
In April 2011 Dan stepped out as a solo recording artist, and immediately joined the top tier of regional blues players, earning an ECMA nomination and Music Nova Scotia nomination for his debut CD, “Even My Guitar Is In Love With You”.
The sophomore album, "From Deep Inside", was released in May 2013, and has been described as “A confident, smokin' set full of hot leads, a variety of styles, and best of all, lots of cliche-free originals. Doiron plays it full of energy, moving in and out of funk, rock, and scorching blues ballads.” The new album was also nominated for a 2013 Music Nova Scotia award for Blues album of the Year, and has also just been nominated for a 2014 East Coast Music Award for Blues Recording of the Year.
In October 2013 the band won the East Coast Music Association’s “Maritimes to Memphis Blues Challenge”. As a result they represented Atlantic Canada at the 2014 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, known as the premiere Blues event in the world! Now in May 2015 Dan is releasing his new album inspired by the trip to Memphis....."Stand Back...I Don't Know How Loud This Thing Gets!"
