There appears to be a tried and trusted formula for blues women. "If it works why change it", the thought, apparently, goes. One is left, by many artists, with a struggle to differentiate between them. Saxophonist, flautist, lead vocalist, Yoka, snaps off this straitjacket. Little Devils latest offering 'About time' comes like a breath of fresh air. Each track in this 7 track album provides a different feel. 'The Waiter' opens the disc with a percussive sound designed to have you on feet. 'Good Times' ensure you remain there as Yoka demonstrates her ability to belt out the blues, accompanied by some beautiful guitar work. 'Hang my Head' shows, however, shows that she is capable of a whole lot more. With great sensitivity, in her voice she delivers a beautiful ballad. This is only the beginning however. With another 4 tracks of equal quality this is an album that would grace any blues lover's record shelf.
