Rusty McCarthy - Singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, and one of the finest Blues and Jazz guitarist on the scene today. With a career spanning three decades and sharing the stage with some of the finest performers in the world. As a free-lance guitarist Rusty has jammed and played with pop's Alanah Myles, Tom Cochrane, Bare Naked Ladies and played Blues with Jeff Healey, Jerome Godboo, The Blues Brothers, Steve Strongman, jazz with Bill Frisell, Holly Cole, Molly Johnson, Folk with Colleen Peterson and Katherine Wheatley. His musical projects have him travelling the world, often as band leader and guitarist with Mary Margaret O'Hara. Notable shows were in London, New York and L.A. sharing the stage with music icons Sting, Lou Reed, Marianne Faithful, Steve Earle, and Elvis Costello. TV Appearances include N.B.C.'s Night Music', BBC 'Top of the Pops," and Much Music. Major gigs include Roskilde Festival, Den. ATP Festival Somerset, Eng, Edmonton Folk festival, Wexford Opera Festival Ire., Pop Montreal.

This is my third CD dedicated to the blues. The effort of many gifted players recorded in Toronto, Kincardine, St Catherine's and Sault Ste. Marie over a two year period. The tunes themselves are: Black Dog - is loosely based a dog that bite me when I was 5 years old, i still have the scar on my left arm. Old Wind Blows - lyrically is playing with Confucius style quotations on a delta shuffle. This River - a rocking' blues tale of a lad from an industrial River town. Dixie Blues - the woman who went south to Louisiana for a visit. New York City Blues - is about my adventures in NYC in the 80's and 90's. Can't Take the Boogie - well I like to dance but she's embarrassed by my freelancing style. We Can Move On - we hurt each other but grow stronger. Long Way Down - The higher you get the harder you fall. State Of Affairs - a diplomatic play on words. Candy Man - I'll get whatever treat she needs. Cork Blues - I was in Cork Ireland doing a blues gig when my Dad passed away. Sophisticated - Classy groove for a classy girl. Thats how life Goes - Driving home reminiscing about how it all turned out.
