The metro Washington, D.C. area based blues band, Steve Smith and the Meteors, have finally released their debut CD album, and it has definitely been worth the wait! All of the energy and enthusiasm of their live shows has been captured on this brilliantly produced and recorded example of their "pure blues" craftsmanship. Old school blues to a more contemporary sound, and vocal to instrumental tracks are mixed throughout. The track order also flows smoothly all the way through. Recorded in the great blues city of Memphis, Steve and Pete made sure that this album had all of the elements of a successful blues album in place, before they began recording. They take their blues very seriously, and strive to keep an authentic, unspoiled sound in everything they do (check out their vintage, blues heyday era, amps at one of their live shows when you get the chance).
