Like a gumbo or a stew, Beetroot Salad, the latest album by Marty Bernard & The BLOO ZEBRAS, is a veritable musical mélange with just the right ingredients guaranteed to satisfy the most eclectic of music lovers’ appetites. Served on a bed of Electric Blues, this Beetroot Salad features slices of Folk, a dash of Cajun and sprinkles of Jazz with big chunks of GUITAR all complemented by a Psychedelic and spicy vinaigrette. CAUTION: May induce hallucinatory-like effects.
Marty Bernard is a guitar player, singer and composer who has recorded or performed with David Vest, Mitch Kashmar (War), Mark DuFresne (Roomful of Blues) and Jeff Simmons (Frank Zappa). While a member of rockers Catfish, he toured North America sharing the bill at one point or another with acts Iggy Pop, Beck, and Moby.
Beetroot Salad was produced by long time collaborator Jack Lavin (Powder Blues Band) and features premiere jazz drummer John Nolan with very special guests John Lee Sanders and Willie MacCalder.
