Time of Gathering is a true labor of love. This CD represents the collaboration of preeminent Bay Area blues musicians to help Nathan Harrison Beyer, a young boy born with an undiagnosed genetic condition. For the past three years, Nathan has needed a great deal of complex medical care, the expenses of which have driven his family to near bankruptcy. The proceeds from the sale of this CD will be used to offset Nathan’s medical costs.
Nathan’s parents, Jed and Laurie Beyer, experienced unimaginable distress at the discovery of their son’s condition. Jed, who has been a prominent guitarist in the vibrant Bay Area blues scene for the past decade, channeled much of his frustration into his music. When Jed shared the concept of the Time of Gathering project with his musician friends, their outpouring of love and support made it a reality.
