Tina Bednoff & the Cocktailers is a quartet from the shady red light district of Helsinki, delivering rockin' rhythm and blues you can dance your toenails off with. All due respect to today's music and artists but don't you just sometimes get tired of the endless radio playlists and their monotonic, compressed sound barrier? Have no fear, Tina and guys are here! The band's sound is firmly based on 40's-50's rhythm and blues but the aim is absolutely not to make blueprints of the hits of yesterday.
The repertoire is mostly rockin' rhythm and blues perfect for dancers, with some slower blues, a few rhumba rhythms and of course a slow ballad here and there. More new, original material is coming in all the time and the cover songs being dug out off the beaten path - no worn-out standards everyone has heard a zillion times before. The result is a mix of unique, exciting cocktails out of the well known ingredients.
Tina is one of the very few finnish female blues guitarists and bandleaders. Since her offspring grew up enough she has gone back to her one true love; rhythm and blues. Tina's passionate vocal and guitar style is based on decades of listening to blues giants like T-Bone Walker, Big Mama Thornton, Memphis Minnie and countless others. Although she has not a lot experience with bands, she has been playing guitar and singing her guts out for over 30 years. So, she does know her stuff.
