Even with a not very attractive cover, 'Valley Blues' is an excellent blues rock album. With lots of wah-wahs, George Hotte Miller opens strongly with “Getting Mad”, “I Believe” is a calm slide blues style Elmore James and on “I Don't Need No Religion” he shifts down a gear. “Look at the World” is a shuffle with punch, “So Many Nights” a drawn-out slow blues à la lettre and “Spooks Around My Head” a swinging song. “The Love She's Givin'” talks about the compelling groove, the sfuffle “What You Say or Do” about the infectious tight groove and the closing track, the slow blues “You Shot Me”, the calmness and the beautiful solos, both on guitar and organ.

Guitarist George H(otte) Miller may not immediately suspect it, but was born in Germany somewhere on the 2850 km long Danube. When he discovered Jimi Hendrix as a teenager, he also became interested in the blues. He first played in a band when he was 14 years old. At 40 he returns to the blues and found his examples in Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Robert Johnson, Howling Wolf and Muddy Waters, among others. In addition to his own work as Miller, George Miller or George Hotte Miller, there are also "collaborations". With his buddy drummer Timm Schauen, Miller/Schauen. Featuring Pat Gifford from NYC, Solly Aschkar from Munich and Hendrik Papp, a young German harpist, Pat Gifford & Friends. And also with Akos Papp (guitar, slide guitar, vocals), Hendrik Papp (harp) and guests, PMP. In 2002 he made his debut with 'Miller'. "Rock the Blues" followed in 2009, "Cross the Line" in 2011 and in 2013, after his move to Los Angeles and some performances there, "Park City Blues" and "Spoonful of Blues" (2014). It was quiet for a while but in the past year Miller - heavily influenced by LA and the San Fernando Valley - recorded 'Livin' in the Valley and more recently, his new album 'Valley Blues'. Searched for the line-up and credits, but couldn't find everything on the internet.
