In the United States and Brazil, Big Chico lived, played and drew several compliments from him that can be considered an icon in his instrument: “Chico has really got feeling and soul of the blues! His attack and tone are real! He's kepping it alive. ” Said Rod Piazza after hearing Chico play his harmonica. With the repertoire that goes through the traditional Chicago blues and the swing, better known as Jump Blues - a mixture of blues with elements of the big jazz bands - Big Chico reinterprets themes from the great Rod Piazza, leading his super band to instrumentals and blues classics, leading the audience to delirium in an extremely danceable show, full of energy and animation.

"My New Blues" demonstrates Chico's new phasing and production, with a great cameo from the legendary singer and guitarist Lurrie Bell Chicago (one of the best in the world today). We think that this is Big Chico's best work to date. His Chicago blues have been polished, yet remain quite credible. The guitar playing (by Rodolpho Crepaldi) speaks to the listener and Chico's harp adds just the right touches. The rhythm section is synced-up, completing a real good offering. Grab this one!

Big Chico realized his dream and traveled to LA from Brazil to record this disc with some of the best players around town. Backing musicians include those who played with William Clarke and the drummer for Rod Piazza. This is a very good example of the finest blues that comes from the land of carnival and samba. Don't miss this album! One of the most successful Brazilian harmonica players, Big Chico shows his talent on this well-done CD. This is good Chicago stuff, with some New Orleans, framed by a meaty harmonica. "Chico has really got the feeling and soul of the blues. His attack and tone are real, he's keeping it alive!" -Rod Piazza.
