There are few musicians in this country with the history and tablas of Tonky de la Peña, the father of Madrid blues. Tonky de la Peña founded his group in Madrid in the early 80's, earning a strong reputation every night in the blues clubs and accompanying great international bluesmen, such as Carey Bell, Louisiana Red, Charlie Musshellwhite, with whom he played in concerts and festivals, being invited on several occasions to the stage by Albert Collins & the Icebraekers.

Today, the Tonky Blues Band is one of the great European blues bands participating in important festivals, without abandoning the clubs from which it emerged, a circuit in which they develop the level of improvisation characteristic of the genre, being considered a great specialist of the slide guitar. Years go by for Tonky who has lived the evolution of blues in Spain in the first person.

Tonky de la Peña continues to participate in various projects, performing periodically at festivals with Raimundo Amador at the Cambayá Blues Reunion, in which the great Sevillian harmonist Mingo Balaguer and the guitarist Francisco Simón also participate, and touring in Spain and France with the extraordinary singer and harmonist Nico Wayne Toussaint and with the young talent Charles Pasi.
