DEDE PRIEST grew up in Dallas, Texas, raised by her hard-working, young mother. As a little girl, she would write songs and sing along to whatever she could find. In addition to singing, she studied classical violin as a child (often holding it and strumming it like a guitar). After years of performing primarily as a vocalist, she would later make the transition to singing and performing with her violin and guitar. This new direction would shape her overall talent and bring the deepest satisfaction.

Moving to Austin, Texas after high school to attend the University of Texas, Dede Priest earned a degree in Philosophy, then followed her heart and let the music lead. In Austin, Texas, a thriving live music haven, she began singing professionally. Brandishing vocals rooted in the raw-ness of the Texas Blues and Gospel traditions, Dede Priest was pinned early on as a “Modern Day Blues Queen”. Later, she began gaining wider international recognition for her powerful delivery of a unique style that crosses lines and “turns Blues, Soul, and Jazz inside out”. She has shared the stage with Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Leon Russell, Tommy Shannon (Double Trouble), and Harry Belafonte, among others.

In 2011, Dede Priest released "KINKY AT THE ROOT", an honest and deeply personal portrait, and a well-received follow-up to her previous CD jewel, "CANDY MOON" (2007), which also received exceptional reviews.

In 2013 - 2015, with TANGLED EYE, Dede Priest moved in a different artistic direction which allowed her to sing and play her violin. Raw and simple with a deep love for American Roots Music, Tangled Eye was a unique line-up of musicians with broad taste and an open-minded approach that allowed many musical influences to shine through. Tangled Eye's song "Jesus, I'm Calling You" ("Dream Wall" Album, Black & Tan Records) was used in the HBO Television Series "The Leftovers", hitting #2 in USA & UK I-Tunes Charts. A second original song, "I Am" (The Other Seven Songs Album, Black & Tan Records), was used in the television series "Queen Sugar", Oprah Winfrey Network, OWN. A third original song, “Nilas” ("Dream Wall" Album, Black & Tan Records), was used in the USA History Channel TV series "Six". A fourth original song, "Call Before You Come" ("The Other 7 Songs" Album, Black & Tan Records), was used in the SYFY Resident Alien series.

The pleasure of singing and performing with her violin led Dede Priest to add her guitar to the mix. In her new collaboration with JOHNNY CLARK'S OUTLAWS, she is doing what she loves most: painting with all three instruments. DEDE PRIEST & JOHNNY CLARK'S OUTLAWS have developed a unique and recognizable sound that blends Blues with elements of Rock, Soul, Gospel, Folk, and Country. Their first 2 releases, "FLOWERS UNDER THE BRIDGE" (December 2017) and "CROCUSES FROM ASHES" (May 2019), received exceptional, international praise. Their 3rd album, "WHEN BIRDS WERE SNAKES", is scheduled for release May 1, 2021. Their shows bring original songs and deliver a loaded atmosphere where a modern-day, cross-over style emerges.

Dede Priest has performed in the USA, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Denmark, Romania, Poland, and Sweden, including prestigious events such as Martin Luther King Keynote – Austin, Texas, Rhythm & Blues Night Oosterpoort - The Netherlands, Belgium Rhythm & Blues - Peer, Simply Blues Viana - Portugal, Trasimeno Blues Festival – Italy, to name a few. She has received international radio and television airplay, including BBC Radio, HBO, Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), USA History Channel, among others. Television broadcasts include live performances on shows such as Vrije Geluiden (The Netherlands) and Hamburg Sounds (Germany).

She continues to forge ahead with good ole' fashioned writing, rehearsing, and hitting the road to do the NEXT SHOW!

Johnny Clark & The Outlaws - 2 EPs: Never For Granted / Outlaw's Night Out

Johnny Clark (Hans Klerken) was born January 23, 1968 and raised in a small town in the South-East of the Netherlands. In this agricultural area on the border with Germany, he grew up in the 70’s and early 80’s. The countryside and it’s culture define Johnny’s roots, something you can feel in his music. Through the first performance of Rory Gallagher in his hometown in 1984, he found out about Stevie R. Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Alan Haynes, and everybody else who plays music with soul.

With Bullfrog Blues Machine in ‘94, he started to develop his own style through writing and performing his own songs. Johnny fronted Bullfrog Blues Machine for 13 years and always kept an open mind and a longing for anything that gave him the thrill of the real deal: the magic and energy of good live music. Through the constant process of "becoming", as Bob Dylan once put it in a nice poetic way, Johnny was ready for a change in 2007. With the dedicated Outlaws behind him, the three of them hit the road.

Johnny Clark aka Hans Klerken: vocals, guitar; Theo Thumper: bass; Pasquale Ramon Oostenrijk aka Ray: drums.

Johnny Clark aka Hans Klerken who in 1994 was the basis of the 'Bullfrog Blues Machine'. Now Hans may want to deal with the past and because of that he has been working on the debut album of this 'Johnny Clark and the Outlaws' in which he draws for all 13 tracks on this album as there is a 3-part cooperated by the Texan violence that has established itself in the Netherlands, especially Dede Priest, does dominate Hans Klerken's stamp, but as a result, Dede may have been inspired to write new material. The style of Johnny Clark is somewhere between the Irish god Rory Gallagher and the Texas blues of SRV although there is more SRV to be found especially when you listen to 'When The Blues Comes Callin' or how 'Mary' is a bit driven by the wind . Also solid guitar reefs are of course to be found on this album as with the Texan rocking 'Feel So Good'.

The 'Outlaws' consists of a rhythm section with the drums Theo Thumper who also deserved his stripes with support to the performances at T-Model Ford and Lee McBee. The other half of the rhythm section consists of drummer Pasquale Ramon Austria aka Ray and can sway with a whole resum of nobility so it will not turn this Johnny Clark and the Outlaws into a one-day fly. For the 'making-of' they appealed to Mike Roelofs at Hammond, Martijn van Toor at the saxophone and Ben Bouman at the Mississippi saxophone and certainly the hammond organ I will miss a bit at the live performances or they should go and take it . The blues harp and sax also play an important role on this album, although the lead role is still reserved for Hans' guitar work. That there are some Texan influences can be found on this album you clearly hear at 'Spinnin' Down 'because here the images of Billy, Dusty and Frank appear or should there be men with beards and with that we come to the Southern blues rock or the picture where I want this Johnny Clark and his Outlaws in places and so are the rocking and steamy valves for the festivals again several years insured of new blood.
