As the title suggests this CD has an affirmative, positive-thinking slant to it with plenty of up tempo jumpin' blues and boogie along with swing market crossover potential, as the tempos and grooves are just right for the dance floor. Blue Room is made up of veteran players who convey a hard work and dedication ethic on top of close friendships and a "common goal" dream that is certainly coming true given the success of this disc. Brian Neller as lead vocalist is a natural with a voice very similar to that of Doug Bennett (Doug and The Slugs fame). Fourteen tracks, all originals and all being strong is quite an accomplishment and a sign of maturity especially since many have a dose of humor.

“Paul Sanderson, the band's leader, says the key to Blue Room's success has been its willingness to deviate from blues conventions to include elements of jazz, R&B, rock and pop. 'We rework the blues genre a bit, adding pop elements to the blues formula. Sometimes we throw in a little bit of spoken word, jazz and country. I call it blues-plus'. As a blues band, Blue Room hasn't received tons of radio play, but has been spun on CBC Radio and some college stations. Sanderson says the band is working on putting together a third album and is focusing on playing jazz and blues festivals. Blue Room has played the Toronto Beaches Festival and Lloyd's Blues Music festival, where it shared the bill with legends like BB King, Buddy Guy and John Hiatt."
