Jas Patrick is angry. Angry at the world, at life and especially himself. On his EP Live at Osa Madre Studios, Nashville-based blues, rock and Americana artist Jas Patrick intellectually channels this turmoil into five songs that go after grasping politicians, spying governments, personal betrayals and self-loathing.
The lead track Harpy kicks off with a gritty blues riff and a fat kick drum that cements the rest of the song while delivering a slinky rock track. Patrick's bluesy vocals bring a raw, worn quality to the performance as he warns his subject to "take your heated spite to a cold grave."
Live at Osa Madre Studios was recorded in Nashville, TN on July 4th as part of a marathon one day session covering twenty different songs, including a mix of new songs, earlier originals and covers. Patrick performed all parts simultaneously: Singing, playing guitar and playing a foot drum. This is featured on the first video, Harpy, which is live on YouTube. Before the Live at Osa Madre session there were no plans to release audio tracks, only videos; but, after hearing the result, Patrick's manager insisted that he release five of the new songs as soon as possible.
Patrick will be working in the studio for the remainder of the year as he records the songs from Live at Osa Madre Studios for a studio EP due Spring 2015. In addition, Patrick will be playing live shows in Nashville, TN and regionally with upcoming shows in Lexington KY, Knoxville, TN, Johnson City, TN, Decatur, GA and more.
