With Which Way Do We Go?, Brandon Santini tears up the rulebook and writes a new chapter in his already impressive blues legacy. Recorded in the musical heartland of Memphis, Tennessee, and produced alongside his longtime collaborator Jeff Jensen, this record is a powerhouse of honesty, resilience, and soul. Written during the uncertainty of the pandemic and its slow-burning aftermath, the album sees Santini baring more than just blues licks - he delivers vulnerability and reflection wrapped in electrified arrangements and rich storytelling. It’s an album that doesn’t just ask the question “Which way do we go?” - it grabs the wheel and drives straight through the emotional storm. /Glen Parkes, Jace Media Music

Brandon Santini hails from the Piedmont region of North Carolina. He relocated to Memphis in 2003 and began fronting the Delta Highway Band. In 2009 they received a Blues Music Award nomination as Best New Artist.

Santini released his own debut recording “Songs of Love, Money and Misery” in 2011 and received rave reviews. His 2013 follow up was “This Time Another Year”. As a direct result Santini received 2014 BMA nominations for both “Contemporary Blues Album of The Year” and best “Instrumentalist – Harmonica”. In the later category he was nominated alongside Charlie Musselwhite, Kim Wilson, Rick Estrin and James Cotton. In 2016 Santini released “Live & Extended!” and was nominated for two more BMA’s; another in the category of best “Instrumentalist – Harmonica” and for “Male Blues Artist of The Year”.

The Brandon Santini Band includes Santini, harmonica and vocals; Timo Arthur, electric guitar; Jed Potts, acoustic guitar; John Ginty, keyboards and percussion; Chuck Combs, bass; and Reid Muchow, drums. Additional musicians include guitarists Greg Gumpel and Jimmy Bennett; percussionists Michael Bram, Doug Hinrichs and Samantha Bono; and background vocalist Moe Watson. The album is produced by Ben Elliot, Ginty and Santini.

“The Longshot” is a departure from the traditional blues influences Santini is normally associated with as this is much more a blues rock album. On this new album we find Santini inspired by legendary rock artists such as The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, The Allman Brothers and Creedence Clearwater Revival. All of the songs were written or co-written by Santini except for one lone cover.

The relentless opener with the lyric “hey baby, don’t you come around here no more”, was co-written with Joel DaSilva; the driving rhythm section sets up Santini’s fabulous solo. “Beggin’ Baby” was written with Victor Wainwright and slide guitarist Gumpel who sits in.

“Drive You Off My Mind” is from Santini and Arthur. “Heartbreaker” was written with Jeff Jensen and Bill Ruffino. “Evil (Is Going On)” is the Willie Dixon classic with some great bass from Combs and Santini nailing that high reedy sound. The remaining six tracks are all Santini including the acoustic “Broken Bones” featuring his harp as it dances with Ginty’s organ.

Santini is like Houdini as he weaves his blues and rock influences on this magical new studio recording. ~Richard Ludmerer

Recorded in July 2014 at Festival d’ete de Quebec in Quebec City, QC, the album features twelve dynamic performances including two previously unreleased original songs.

"Opening with a funky version of Muddy Waters' One More Mile, Santini is cooking right out of the box on lead vocal and hot smokin' harp work. Great opener! Nick Hern on bass and Timo Arthur on guitar set a solid boogie rhythm nailed down by Chad Wirl on drums on This Time Another Year and Santini uses his solid blues voice and great harp phrasing to captivate the crowd. On Sonny Boy Williamson track, Elevate Me Mama, Santini really gets in the slow groove. This track is in excess of 6 minutes and Santini doesn't waste a note. Hot! On groove blues, Evil Woman, it's Hern and Arthur that set the pace and Arthur takes it for a nice ride with some flashy riffs of his own. The band drops back to nothing but drum and Santini takes a rid of his own. Very cool! Have A Good Time has a sassy 60's surf kind of sound rolled into a blues track. Arthur keeps it simple with rockabilly style riffs and Wirl keeps the groove. Help Me With The Blues is a solid flame thrower right out of the chute. Arthur is again right on the top with rock n roll guitar riffs and Wirl and Hern ride tight. Santini steps up with a hot hot harp solo. Excellent! Slim Harpo track, Got Love If You Want It, has a crisp early rock/blues feel. Santini really rocks the joint joined by Arthur on a screaming guitar solo. On No Matter What I Do, a cool Chicago style blues, Santini's vocal phrasing sets the bar and in call and response trades with Arthur on guitar riffs. Stepping up and unleashing a masterful harp solo is what this is all about. On shuffle track, What You Doing To Me, dials down the volume a bit and belts out the blues. In contrast his harp phrasing and easy going solo by Arthur gives this track a calming feel. Up next is Frank Frost's My Back Scratcher with a cool bass lead. Santini and Arthur each take very cool extended solos on this track making it one of my favorites on the release. Hot number I Wanna Boogie With You is so hot it's on fire. There are flames coming off of the band. (Stilladog will be whistling this one and blowing someone's ears out). Excellent! Wrapping the release is Come On Everybody, a traditional Chicago style blues. Santini's vocal styling really deserves more notoriety but it is always overshadowed by his harp work. This man can really do it all. With a BB King like swing, Santini belts out the blues bringing the show to a close. This is an excellent recording and a great representation of Santini's work." ~Bman

Brandon Santini - 2 albums: Songs Of Love, Money & Misery / This Time Another Year

There are many different opinions as to what the future of blues harmonica will be. Memphis vocalist and harmonica player Brandon Santini is undeniably a worthy player to keep an eye on as the next decade unfolds. His name is worthy of conversations that involve Jason Ricci, Billy Gibson, Dennis Gruenling, Rick Estrin and other frontline harmonica players that have become part of a new wave in the blues world. With tasteful speed and licks, he combines his respect to traditional blues with a present, colorful style of playing that is often compared to Paul Butterfield, James Cotton, or Sonny Boy Williamson II. Raised in North Carolina, Brandon relocated to Memphis in 2003 where he began to absorb the sounds and culture of the Delta and north Mississippi Hill Country, honing his craft night after night, sweating it out in local Beale Street clubs just like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, & B.B. King. For seven years, Brandon fronted the Blues Music Award nominated band Delta Highway and has toured relentlessly throughout North America and has visited seven foreign countries (including a 2009 Bluzapalooza tour to Cairo, Egypt) bringing his distinct voice and playing style to music lovers everywhere throughout the world!

"Jeff Jensen" has been a musical work in progress for over a decade, blending blues, soul, west coast swing and Americana into a mature sound that now defines his latest highly-anticipated release, "Road Worn and Ragged".

Having moved to Memphis, TN from Portland, Oregon just two years ago, Jeff immediately began touring with Beale Street staple, Brandon Santini and recently co-produced and co-wrote on Santini's acclaimed album "This Time Another Year." Recording almost entirely live at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Jeff subtly emphasizes substance over hype, all the while never shying away from the extreme energy and honest emotion that he is well known for.

With an exciting mission to assemble the finest group of musicians, Jeff finds a powerhouse group of friends that share his passion for musical exploration. Complete with brand new fiery tracks like "Brunette Woman" and "Crosseyed Cat" to the risky emotional honesty of "River Runs Dry", this album shows the progressive maturity of a consistently growing artist. "Road Worn and Ragged" features bassist Bill Ruffino, James Cunningham on drums, Chris Stephenson on organ and Wurlitzer, Brandon Santini on harmonica and 2013 BMA Winner Victor Wainwright on piano. Wainwright also co-wrote the swinging "Raggedy Ann" and produced four of Jeff's vocal tracks. The one and only Reverend Billy C. Wirtz even chipped in by co-writing the easy shuffle with stinging honesty, "Good Bye Portland."

"Jeff don't chase any ghosts of Robert Johnson, or fall into the pitfalls of coming off gimmicky! He brings the goods with this no-nonsense production and I can't help but conclude that his songs were constructed for the express purpose of taking on and winning over an audience! something I greatly admire and something he and his band have the extreme talent to do!" - Victor Wainwright (2013 BMA winner).

Jeff Jensen - Vocals, Guitar; Bill Ruffino - Bass; James Cunningham - Drums; Chris Stephenson - Organ. Special Guests--Victor Wainwright - Piano; Brandon Santini - Harmonica.
