The album brought together some of the best talent in the Hub City area. The bed tracks captured by Grammy Award winning engineer Tony Daigle, from there MJN took the 'Live In the studio tracks' and turned them into a 3 dimensional headphone soundscape, yet still kept the mixes raw and urgent. Nunez's guitar playing takes a slight back seat to his growing songwriting, but make no mistake, what might pass you by in the first few listens, will eventually catch your ear as you realize the album is filled with some amazing, and creative guitar lines...some in your face with huge tones....some more subtle, but never the less creative and boundary pushing. want proof? look no further than the intro to the opening track 'Betta'. Those aren't synth, and it isn't studio tricks...that's a fuzzy guitar that was tracks live as is.

Michael Juan Nunez is a singer, guitarist, songwriter, from South Louisiana whose music taps into the heart of American southern culture. It’s fresh, and urgent, yet unmistakably sprouting from very deep roots. His music paints pictures of life, as seen through the eyes of southern Louisiana. His guitar playing is raw and passionate…moaning, screaming, singing, and driving modern day melodies, with echoes of long lost dancehalls.

Michael has played with many groups, most notably Zachary Richard (with whom he toured the US, Canada, and France), Roddie Romero and the HubCity AllStars (with whom he was part of the Grammy Nominated CD “The La Louisianne Sessions”), Mr. Harry Hippolyte (Guitarist for the late Zydeco legend Clifton Chenier), as well as his own group, ‘The RiverBabys’. Along the way, he has worked on stage, and in the studio with many other artists from time to time, including the great Chess Records pianist Mr. Henry Gray, and legendary NOLA musician 'The Night Tripper' Dr. John.

The result is 'My Little Train Wreck' an albums worth of stories, grooves, and chops delivered as only Michael Juan can. This is a 180 degree turn from his last record 'The American Electric' which was his most eclectic, to what might be his most accessible record to date. Accessible in the since that the production is huge, yet simple...the tones range from mean and snarling, to crying and pulling on the listener's heart...and the songs themselves are just good ol' rock-n-roll from South Louisiana! A guest appearance by Sonny Landreth on the title track is not only incredible, it shows that Nunez can certainly hold his own with one of the best guitarists in the world...and then some.
