Joining Suzie at the album launch will be Kevin Breit on guitar, Russ Boswell on bass, Davide Di Renzo on drums and Jesse Whiteley on keyboards as her Band.

Over a storied career now spanning three decades, Suzie has earned 10 Maple Blues Awards, three Juno nominations, two wins in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition, and major peer respect. “Fall Back Home” reaffirms Vinnick’s mastery of a wide range of musical styles. The gospel-tinged positive anthem “Lift You Up” fits seamlessly alongside the rockin’ blues of “Salt & Pepper” and the gentle folk/roots ballads “City & Skies” and “Talk To Me,” and the album is given consistency via the emotional eloquence of Suzie’s songwriting and her strong, warm vocals. Add in the crisp production of Danny Greenspoon and instrumental, vocal and writing contributions from a genuine A-list of Canadian roots music artists and you have a compelling and well-curated collection of songs demanding and rewarding your attention.

Suzie Vinnick, 10X Maple Blues Award winner, 3X Juno Nominee was aFinalist in the 2013 International Blues Challenge Solo/Duo Category inMemphis, TN. She was the winner of the 2012 CBC Saturday Night Blues Great Canadian Blues Award and the 2012 SIRIUS/XM Blues Artist of the Year has released a new album entitled Live At Bluesville, a collection of roots, blues and gospel tunes featuring Suzie and her parlour guitar, Mabel.

A little history…in 2011 Suzie sent a copy of her first solo acoustic blues album Me ‘n’ Mabel to Bill Wax and the album ended up charting for seven weeks on B. B. King’s Bluesville “Picks to Click” reaching number three. This gave Suzie exposure to wider markets and very positive feedback on Me ‘n’ Mabel from fans. In November 2011, as part of a two week tour in the US, Suzie and Mabel spent a few hours recording at the Sirius/XM Radio studio with Bill and his team. Suzie felt so good about the recording session that she wanted to share it with her fans.

Suzie’s album Me ‘n’ Mabel received a 2012 Juno Nomination and opened many doors for her including numerous US and international performances – opening for John Hammond at the Madison Square Park Conservancy inNew York City and performing in Germany at the Women in (e) Motion Festival in Bremen.

Mabel is a Canadian-built maple and spruce Larrivee parlour guitar I bought in 2003. "Me 'n' Mabel" is a collection of acoustic blues tunes that I play mostly on Mabel, but a few songs were played on her pals (loaned courtesy of Danny Greenspoon) a Gibson LG2 (born in 1957) and a National Duolian (born in 1929) for a couple extra sonic colours.

"Vinnick's ability to go sweet and high, and low and tough in the same song is just one of the reasons she makes each song a powerful performance. Every one of the tunes here leaves you with that feeling, that you've just heard a masterful version of the song. A highly-recommended album while we wait for the studio follow-up...." ~ Bob Mersereau

Live At Bluesville is a mix of roots and blues tunes recorded by Suzie and her parlour guitar, Mabel – the music will appeal to fans of Me 'n' Mabel and her earlier, roots-music based album, Happy Here.

What happens when you take two talented people that have been friends for years and throw them together on an overdue release that celebrates their friendship? Nothing halfway (aptly titled). Sure it’s a mixed bag of blues and soul — a potpourri of the musical styles both artists have used to create names for themselves. Like many vanity projects, this pair plays the music that makes them feel good, rather than follow any prescription for success or nail any specific audience sect. Some of the musical back-up is thin in places — with spontaneity possibly ruling the day over production finesse. But what is undeniable is the chemistry between these two closely connected musical cohorts — evidenced by the energy that lifts off the page and warms your heart. This is Saturday afternoon music that makes you feel good. Each volunteers quality, self-penned songs that stand-out: notably Vinnick’s "Love In A Bottle,” which grants her perfect voice licence to soar; Fines’ "Fool In Love,” which marries his distinctive blues rasp to his lethal slide guitar. And there’s no denying the Marvin & Tammi (Roy & Dale?) rush that floods over you with their co-penned opening track, "We Got A Love Like That.” A great first effort that was 15 years in the making, with so much potential for more. ~Eric Thom
