The Cinelli Brothers are a project born from a shared passion for the electric Chicago and Texas blues of the 60s and 70s, when brothers Marco (guitarist and lead singer) and Alessandro (drummer) decided to form an explosive team presenting an original repertoire in the style of Chess, Stax and Motown. The two brothers are joined on stage by Tom Julian-Jones (harmonica, guitar and vocals) and Stephen Giry (bass, guitar and vocals). They represent a new generation of passionate musicians who share a love of blues, soul, R&B and the authentic sounds that have made the blues a cornerstone of music history.

In September 2022 the band won the UK Blues Challenge and in January 2023 the band came second at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA. Their debut album Babe Please Set Your Alarm was recorded at Soup Studio in London and the complete live and analog recording was released on vinyl and digital in May 2018. Music Republic Magazine nominated Marco Cinelli as Best Guitarist of 2018 and in November 2021 the band released their second album "Villa Jukejoint" in conjunction with a sold out show at the legendary 100 Club in London. Recorded at home with just one microphone, the record has a unique vintage and retro feel, typical of the 50s and early 60s.

In 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 the band was nominated for "Blues Band Of The Year" at the UK Blues Awards. In January 2022 the record "Villa Jukejoint" was nominated for the UK Blues Awards as "Blues Album Of the Year". In January 2023, the record "No Country For Bluesmen" was nominated for the UK Blues Awards as "Blues Album Of the Year". And now we have Almost Exactly, a brand new album filled to the brim with vintage stuff: the best and most versatile retro blues rock'n roll, spiced up with funk, soul and everything else that makes the Cinelli Brothers one of the hottest tickets in bluesland. The Cinelli Brothers are thrilled to announce that the recordings for the second album have started. It’s an ambitious project involving special recording techniques, or rather, very old ones. Undoubtedly, it will be all live in the studio. Last month Marco was busy trying to find the right microphone for his voice, and he spent a good week testing few models. All is set up now, the key ‘R’ has been already once or twice! At the very same time, the cover artwork is also work in progress: fans will be delighted to know that, on the trail of ‘Babe Please Set Your Alarm’, there will be another illustration. At present, the band is working on some horn section arrangement (yes, there will be horns ladies and gentlemen!) and practicing other instruments than their first one, as there will be some serious instru- swapping. On top of it, Enzo will reunite again with his old friend, the double bass, brushing it up during last days of summer. Won’t be long till you will hear some more news, so stay tuned!!!

This is a very proficient album, and one that bears numerous listens as the detail begins to reveal itself. The instrumental, Rocco, keeps getting better and The Aretha Franklin cover grows and grows. This band is one to watch…both live and for their next album. I think it safe to say that if they continue to develop their writing styles and carefully choose and craft the cover versions, then that second album will be even better.
