The band has recorded an extremely well-received CD. "Let's Jump Tonight! The blues magazine "Jefferson", named the CD "one of the best blues records of the year!" It's a red-hot disc crammed with uptempo songs where Sir Åsling battles it out with the horn section until the drummer falls off his stool! The album was recorded in South Recording Studios outside Lund.

Sir Jay & His Blue Orchestra - 2 albums: 2 Happy Nights/Blues For Uncle Sam

A popular big blues party band founded some 15 years ago by Sir Jay Åsling and the rock & roll saxophonist Jonas Palm. Both had a strong love for T-Bone Walker's 40s & 50s music and therefore put together a fine group of hard swinging musicians with a genuine feel for this old style blues. The repertoire also consists of influences from people like BB King, Little Milton, Howling Wolf, Charlie Christian and Charlie Parker. Some originals from their well-received cd “Blues for Uncle Sam” are also included in the set list. The band has toured several times in Scandinavia, Germany and The Czech Republic and have played hundreds of clubs and festivals: The Blues Baltica in Eutin, Germany, Prague international Jazz festival & Starapekarna blues club in Brno, Copenhagen Blues festival, Copenhagen Jazz house, Mönsterås, Åmål, Östersund, Eslöv, Tromsö, Trondheim, Oslo, Stampen in Stockholm Sweden and 13 straight years at The Malmö Festival (Malmö Jazz House). The band's trademark is to play high energetic numbers spiced up with some crazy and spontaneous battles between Jay's rough guitar and the hard riffing horn section – trading riffs in every tune. Bluesy vocalist and guitar man J. Åsling from the steamy south of Sweden unleashes a groove-infested collection of rootsy blues originals with his brand new knock-out band. All cuts were recorded in two days in Stockholm with very little rehearsal and post-production, resulting in the spontaneous feel of these hard-swinging "Stockholm Sessions", a crazy mix of blues, swamp and soul.
