HIGHWAY 61 rolls on for over 800 long miles, all the way from the Mississippi Delta to the Windy City of Chicago. This road is Known as the Blues Highway, because it carried so many of the outh's Blues legends from their roots in towns like larksdale and Greenville all the way to the big city. Their original music went through some interesting changes along the way.

GREG BARKER AND HIGHWAY 61 are Bluesmen who have managed to capture the many flavors and styles of that long stretch of highway. From gutbucket Mississippi swamp blues to Chicago style "jump" blues, if you can say it, they can play it. With collective musical experience totaling over 150 years, these guys love the Blues! In addition to their own original work, they play tunes made famous by artists from Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf to contemporary Blues giants like Charley Musselwhite and Tommy Castro. Sit back and savor a tasty Blues gumbo with Greg Barker and Highway 61.

I am an independent Juno nominated guitarist/vocalist/artist from Vancouver B.C., Canada. I have shared the stage with Taj Mahal and Otis Rush to name a couple. I am absolutely passionate about music. Being nominated for a Juno Award in 1997 was an absolute honor not to mention having the humbling and awesome experience of sharing the stage with Taj Mahal and Otis Rush. I have been a regular attraction at the duMaurier International Jazz Festival in Vancouver.

I have been playing professionally since the late seventies and have performed in clubs, on concert stages and on countless recordings. Jimi Hendrix was my first major influence (saw him live in 1967) Since then there have been many infuences on my playing. I'd like to sum it up by saying that any kind of music that moves me, influences me.
