Rana artist Eddy Badleg is making his debut these days with his own CD. With songs by Fred Endresen and Leif A. Wie, he has managed to create a solid product. Both the lyrics and the melodies are typical of the roots genre, and he has a voice that suits the songs well. The voice is just right rusty, and he delivers a believable interpretation of Wie's lyrics. Eddy Badleg may not have a perfect American pronunciation, but it is easy to understand the lyrics. His musical phrasings always seem natural, and the whole thing is pleasant to listen to. The plate is suitably varied without being split. Much of the credit for this product must go to producer Fred Endresen. Not only for a bunch of very good melodies, but a lot also for the studio work. Endresen plays most of the instruments, but still he has managed to create an acoustic "live in studio sound" on all the songs.It's all masterfully done, and the CD should be in the collection for any robber with a sense of roots music.
