One of today’s most electrifying guitarists of the genre, Stevie Cochran epitomizes the sound of modern Blues-Rock. Poignant guitar solos emphasize his soulful melodies; the evocative lyrics culled from self-effacing personal experiences or reflecting on daily-life occurrences. Achieving greatness through simplicity, this is 21st Century Blues from a larger-than-life persona. Stevie Cochran is a strong vocalist, a gifted songwriter, and an ace guitarist. He started playing guitar in 1966, at the tender age of eight. Born into a musical family he was first taught Jazz, but as a youngster soon succumbed to Beatlemania and the British Invasion of Blues Rock. At this point an electric guitar became an essential tool. By 1968 Stevie was listening nonstop to the music of Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton, developing his very own serious lead guitar chops around 1973. Since the mid-nineties Stevie has regularly been touring Japan and Europe, and the electrifying Blues-Rock guitarist has played the Montreux Jazz Festival five times.
