Stevie and the Blue Flames has been a Seattle fixture since the 1980s, and has performed in local clubs, parties, and numerous festivals. They are known for their intensity, great songwriting, and world class musicianship. The material is blues, but the songs are either original or carefully selected covers of traditional music, avoiding the worn out "bar band" favorites. The tempos are up: swing, shuffles, and funk to keep the dancers happy.

Besides performing in the western US, the band has also traveled to Europe, Israel, and South America. They have recorded more than 10 full length CDs of their material, and continue to entertain at a high level with their positive, danceable music. Whether you are looking for a band for a small party or a major festival, they will work with you to make your event a success. This is not your average tavern blues band.

Steve Bailey is a veteran of the Northwest music scene. He fronted bands in Seattle beginning in the early 70’s and then joined forces with the great Isaac Scott for 7 years. In the early 80’s he formed Stevie and the Blue Flames and tore it up on the local Pioneer Square blues scene. He has recorded many LPs and CDs, written many songs, and continues to play gigs in the northwest and overseas. Recently he played numerous gigs in London, Madrid, and Colombia. He has received numerous awards from the Washington Blues Society, including “Best Harmonica”, “Best Band” and in 2015 the “Hall of Fame” award. Besides playing harp, he doubles on slide and rhythm guitar. His trademark is intensity on stage and he still has a ball playing.

Steve Bailey's innovative artistry and diverse career amplifies this CD. Steve Bailey and the Blue Flames have been a solid Seattle Blues Band since the early 1970's, and it's easy to see the by-products of all this experience. With a harp that is second to none, superior guitar (Doug Hearny and Tim Sherman) and a set that absolutely hammers out poundin' blues in all forms - this CD defines "smokin'". The bands trademark is it's intensity and it is well represented on this record. Hard to imagine that a live performance could be more engrossing than what is captured on this fine studio recording. Hard-drivin' and classic blues for those who like plenty of energy in their music. Gets a solid recommendation from us!
