Indigo Duck is a band based in Perth, Western Australia. They play a divergent mix of early American blues, ragtime & jug band mixed in with a liberal dose of 60s & 70s English rock 'n' roll and anything else they feel like on the night. They were formed by John Chopping, ex president of the Perth Blues Club, and founding member of the same club Jeff Harrison. Beginning touring in 1996 with Jesse Steele on drums and Paul Marvin (son of Hank B Marvin from "The Shadows") on acoustic guitar and bass.
During this phase they also gave a young Luke Steele his first professional gigs when Paul was unavailable. Jesse and Luke went on to form their own band "The Sleepy Jackson", named after Jesse's replacement, who was of course, Lyndon "Sleepy" Jackson. This band recorded the double CD "Double Duck", containing some originals and blues standards.
Lyndon left the band to go back home to New Zealand and Paul Marvin went solo. They have continued gigging around Western Australia with the inclusion of keyboard and vocalist Phil Bennett from the fabulous "Love Bites". In 2009 they recorded their latest offering "Quack", which features ragtime, jug band & early American acoustic blues.
