Growing up in rough conditions in Lula, Mississippi, Sherwood Fleming liked to sing in church, but after hearing B.B. King, Sherwood was soon captivated by the blues and he saw a way out of plantation life. In 1956 he moved to Los Angeles. He worked as a trashman when one of the Bihari talentscouts found him and he recorded a few 45's for Kent & Modern, just before the label collapsed. In the 60's he recorded some hard blues with Maxwell Davis. 50 years later he's back with a set of tough urban blues with great support from Johnny & Jason Moeller.
