For years now, Wildmen Bluesband has been working on their way in the Dutch blues scene in a passionate manner. Their repertoire, with many own compositions and a cover now and then, clearly indicates this is not a standard blues band. The way Wildmen Bluesband give their music their own twist, shows great creativity of these five musicians. Just that one extra chord, minor note here, seventh note there, makes Wildmen Bluesband an absolutely unique band within the Dutch blues scene.

During the performances of Wildmen Bluesband, the audience gets a musical spectacle that is unparalleled. With Saskia's clear, flawless voice with a volume that amazes you, she guides her men and certainly the audience through a blistering blues afternoon and/or evening. Together with top guitarist Jos, she is the eye-catcher of the band. With on the other side keyboard magician Ruud and behind her 'Ginger Baker' Rob on drums and 'masterpicker' Mark on bass guitar, the band goes wild in no uncertain way.

With unbridled energy and enthusiasm, the audience is torpedoed, as it were, with all kinds of musical and vocal blues forms. That is an art in itself and also the power that Wildmen Bluesband radiates on stage. Because make no mistake, it is not just 5 musicians making music. They are an exceptionally well attuned, tight unit that carries out their mission with full, visible emotion. Wildmen Bluesband was founded by flamboyant guitarist Jos de Wilde. As a guitar teacher, he has inspired many students to pursue a professional or non-professional career. In 2011 he started with Wildmen Bluesband and after a few changes the band now stands as a house.

In Saskia de Nijs (vocals) Rob Meijran (drums) Mark van Lieshout (bass) and Ruud Vuijk (Hammond) he has found an ideal group of people to play the BLUES!

There is an energetic band on stage, from which sparks fly during a spectacular performance!

The mighty blows of Saskia, the challenging guitar solos of Jos, supported by the solid rhythm section of Rob and Mark, leave no one untouched.

Each member has extensive experience in other blues bands, which guarantees a broad base in the blues.

Wildmen Bluesband plays their own blues, from ballad to up-tempo blues. The coming third CD will mainly consist of these own compositions. On stage this is interspersed with blues by, among others, Elmore James, Freddie King, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Peter Green and many others. The band gives those songs their own twist and given the reactions of the audience this is greatly appreciated.
