The Backdoor Blues Band (BBB) from Austria is known for authentic Chicago blues in the style of Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson and Elmore James. The sound is dominated by Peter Samek's "black" voice, his distinctive harmonica playing and his slide guitar licks.
The BBB was formed in Wiener Neustadt in 1980, and the first album entitled "If You Get In Trouble" was released in 1987. Further recordings and numerous appearances followed. Highlights were certainly appearances at festivals in Wiesen with blues legends such as The Animals, Them, Eric Burdon, Gary Moore and Peter Green.
In 2010 the BBB will play, among other things, and together with Hazmat Modine, as part of the Wiener Neustadt Jazz Festival. On their current CD "Play With Your Poodle" the band breaks new ground with a sound enriched by accordion sounds. The CD will be presented to numerous loyal fans at the sold-out Stadttheater Wiener Neustadt in January 2011 as part of the BBB's 30th anniversary celebrations, and the live recording of this unique concert will be released on DVD in May 2011. In the summer of 2012, the BBB celebrated another musical success at the international 24th Torrita Blues Festival in Italy.
