Big Joe Stolle guitars, harmonica and vocals, one of the most famous Berlin blues shouters, plays together with the Berlin bassist Robert Gläser, the pianist Simon Anke, the drummer Andreas Scherer and the guitarist Mauro Pandolfino.
His powerful, rough voice enchants the fans, and he has already demonstrated his excellent blues harp skills in performances with international greats such as: Champion Jack Dupree, Charly Musselwhite and Jack Bruce.
In the eighties Big Joe released several LPs with the East Berlin blues band Zenit, and in the early nineties an LP with the Eisenach boogie pianist Alexander Blume. Then he devoted himself entirely to his own music. The result was three excellent live CD's which he recorded with top-class musicians from the international and Berlin music scene. In 2012 a new album was created, this time his own songs with German lyrics.
Big Joe Stolle has been on stage for over 40 years and has always remained true to the blues. On large stages (here also with a large cast) and in clubs, he mainly interprets songs from the 60s and 70s and brings the audience to a boil with his mixture of boogie, soul, oldies and blues.
Big Joe Stolle worked - after a long time again - on a new German-language blues disc. The heavyweight blues shouter wrote most of the songs himself. The band brought his ideas to life in a wonderful way. A large construction site was worked through piece by piece, without time pressure and without specifications. The producer David Robinson created a clear, modern sound that lets the audience experience the music directly. The lyrics contain small and large experiences from Big Joe's life.
With two songs he is reminiscent of the great guitarist and composer Peter "Cäsar" Gläser.
