A.K. McLeod is a blues/rock guitarist/singer/songwriter working out of Hamilton, Ontario. He comes from the Six Nations Reserve and the Moose Cree First Nation in Moose Factory, Ontario.
His style is a mixture of 1970’s British blues rock and a fiery Texas style blues. His influences include Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Cry of Love, The Cult, Free, and Bad Company.
He has shared the stage with a number of established artists including Jack De Keyzer, Harpdog Brown, Jace Martin, Inez Jasper, Derek Miller, Digging Roots, Susan Aglukark, David Wilcox, Crystal Shawanda, Murray Porter, George Leech, Gary Farmer, The Pappy Johns Band, and State of Shock.
He is a 2 time award winner (First Runner Up ’08 and Grand Prize ’09, Aboriginal Canada “We Got Talent” Competition). He is noted for his high energy performances, catchy and driving guitar riffs in his original songs, fiery and skillful leads, and his modern interpretation of old blues classics.
His first full length album “Spiritual Fire” was featured on “Blues Blast on The Hawk”(101.5 FM, Mohawk College radio) as album of the week, and is in regular rotation on their playlist.
A.K is set to release his brand new album September 2016 with 8 All New Smoking Blues/Rock Tracks, produced by Award Winner, Jace Martin & features a guest appearance by Guitar Magazine's Top 50 Guitarist of All Time, Stevie Salas.
