Clara Ghimel has performed at various locations, such as Concha Acústica do Teatro Castro Alves (Salvador), Bourbon Street, SESC Ipiranga e Sesi Avenida Paulista (Sa~o Paulo), Teatros SESC (Brasilia, Campinas, Ribeira~o Preto, Sa~o José do Rio Preto and Sa~o Carlos), in Brazil; Reitoria da Universidade do Porto and Casino Lisboa, in Portugal; Harlem Jazz Club, in Barcelona, Spain; Panonica Club, in Dan Haag, Holland; and more than 80 performances at Casino Estoril (Portugal).
She has participated in several international music festivals, such as Heineken Blues Festival (Curitiba and Sa~o Paulo, Brazil), Valkhofaffaire Festival (Nijmegen, Hollanda), Jazz Minde (Minde, Portugal) and Barnasants Festival (Barcelona, Spain). She has also performed at private events organized by Xerox, Petrobrás (Brazilian Oil Company), Varig (Brazilian airlines), Sa~o Paulo City Council, Bahia State Government, and Lisbon Medical University.
Her first album, Every Night of the Week, is a classic blues cd. All tracks were recorded in English, and the cd includes two songs composed by Clara Ghimel. In Old Poster, her second album, Clara Ghimel mixes Brazilian pop music and the Blues, producing a very interesting result. In addition to recording some tracks in English and others in Portuguese, Clara Ghimel includes in this cd three new songs she wrote.
Her most recent cd, Entre Mares, is a collection of Portuguese poetry masterpieces, brought to music by Clara Ghimel, who signs all compositions. It is Clara Ghimel…s tribute to Portugal, country she loves and where she has lived for several years. At this moment, the artist is launching of her newest album, Entre Mares, in Portugal.
