"Inspired by the early West Coast blues, we love to play Swing & Boogie, but with this album we're gonna drag you a bit further into the stinky swampy soils of the Mississippi.

For creating the ultimate fifties sound we recorded this album in the traditional way: with analog tube microphones and gear, all together in one room making use of overspill instead of avoiding it. We now proudly present the results of these sessions with our new album "Detonized" consisting of ten original "explosive" compositions by the band. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do and did recording it."

Detonics headlined many major international festivals and clubs, including Ribs & Blues, Culemborg Blues, Breda )azzand Moulin Blues (The Netherlands), Santa Maria Blues festival (Azores), Swing Wespelaar (Belgium), Zyfflich Blues festival (Germany), )azz am See (switzerland) and BB King's club in Memphis (usA).

Detonics are praised for their creative songs and powerful performance by expert juries: in 20L6 the band won the Dutch Blues Challenge and represented The Netherlands at the European Blues Challenge. In 2017 Detonics reached the semi- finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. One of the jury members commented: "The moment they started to play I got a smile on my face that didn't get off anymore".

To be the winner of the Dutch Blues Challenge, you have to be a band, and the Detonics had more than that and won the first prize with their swinging west coast oriented blues. And this for a band that has only existed since 2015, for sure a great achievement. And now there is the live record 'Live Evidence', with ten tracks recorded during Bluesmoose radio and a live performance. And yes it has to be said from second one the plate swings like a tit.

'Same Old Story' is the beautiful opening song in which we immediately meet musically with the musicians in the band. A lot of swing, the powerful voice of Kars van Nus, the laidback guitar playing of Jeremy Aussems and sitting still is not there anymore. And just stay on that dance floor, because the cover of Memphis Slim 'Lonesome' goes higher in a tempo and keeps the hips moving. Detonics is a band with a wealth of musical (live) experience and that is clearly audible on the record. Rene Leijtens and Mathijs Roks together form the rhythm tandem of the band and they lay down a wonderfully wide room carpet on which the rest can indulge.

'Kill The Cat' is the first song where it gets a bit quieter without being bored for a moment. 'Directly From The Heart' is a cover from Little Richard and gives all the space to the abrasive voice of Kars van Nus, but also pay attention to the piano playing of Raimond de Nijs in this song. And with 'Rock A While' we move in the fifth gear swinging, again standing still is impossible. Beautiful is the contrast with the slowly lingering blues in 'I Can not Quit Anyway', in which the love and the drink are again grateful subjects and are expressed in the wonderful guitar solo of Aussems ..

The exciting duel between organ and guitar features 'She Knows How to Love Me' and we end up at the last tracks of the album. 'BringIit On Home' is the closing with gospelfeel in which the voice of van Nus once again abrasive through the speakers blares. In February Detonics plays in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge, an excellent Dutch representation. With 'Live Evidence' Detonics shows what they are capable of live, something that loyal fans of course already knew. It is an energetic record of an excellent band. And yes that can certainly be said.
