In early 2000 musicians Bemol and Haroldinho Mattos decided to form a guitar duo to play in the city's nightclubs. The initial idea was to provide a repertoire composed of songs that both loved to play and sing ie...Blues and Rock'n roll!!
The instrumentation would have to be as clean as possible, admitting only the use of preamps to control the quality of the generated sound. No effects that altered the sound of the instruments. Everything would be easy to set up: two guitars, two microphones, two stools, a music stand and repertoire for a two-hour uninterrupted concert. A pocket stage with arena show duration...A pocket show...Pocket Blues!!
And so the duo kept on going...they spent 6 months in the Boca da Noite project at Asbac, two years at the Lounge Bar do Meliá, two years at the Oscar Restaurant and another two years at Café da Rua 8, private parties, presentations in several nightclubs, participation in Festivals such as Ibitipoca Blues... The work required the Duo to extend themselves in power trio in order to better express their work on larger stages.
Haroldinho Mattos is a guitarist, composer and luthier. Founding member of Oficina Blues, he participated and captained groups such as Mel da Terra, Akneton, Oficina Blues, HM Blues, in addition to collaborating and enhancing the works of several musicians in the city. Born in Minas Gerais and Brasiliense by training, Haroldinho Mattos is a wizard in the manufacture of guitars, chords and solos.
Bemol is a guitarist, bassist, composer, singer and architect. Considered as the Introducer of style in the city – Blues ambassador, founding member of the Oficina Blues and Filial Blues Band Groups, lent vocals to the Geriatric Blues Band, participated in the band of Rio de Janeiro's Zé da Gaita, Paulinho Trumpete and others.. musicians , participated in several blues festivals such as the extinct and very important Nescafé & Blues, opened shows for John Mayall and BB King, among others. Bemol is totally Brasiliense, born in the capital.
