Kevin Healy’s debut album “Dust and Fire” is an eclectic rock album with carefully crafted songwriting at its core. Tracks range from the soaring energy of “The Fire” and the bluesy edginess of “Dark Wood” to the poignant “Where You Begin”. The album highlights his accomplished guitar playing and vocal style.
Chart appearances, radio sessions, festivals and a sonata for the Royal Irish Academy of Music have all featured in the space of a few months for newcomer Kevin Healy singer, songwriter and composer.. He featured on RTE Raidió Na Gaeltachta's An Seisiún Acústach in a one hour programme dedicated to him and his music. His two nights at the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival received enthusiastic responses from local audiences and journalists from the UK. He has played support for The Shoos (Universal Records) in the Odessa Club and for The Keepers in the Cobblestone Smithfield. He won a place in the final of the Laois Bands for the Electric Picnic competition where he performed in front of judges Thomas Cosby and POD. He built his live reputation when he hit the songwriter showcase nights in Dublin playing the likes of the Zodiac Sessions, Saucy Sundays and the Dime Store sessions. He launched his promotional release “Where you begin” showcasing tracks inspired by folk, blues and contemporary music.
