The Metal Heart EP was created in the magma hot Louisiana summer of 2013 by Lafayette native Dwight J. Roy, who calls himself Electric Seed. A Hendrixian guitarist that was forged in the furnace of the blues, Roy decided to create a work that would give shape to a new form of blues music. A blues that wasn't confined to just 12 bars. His philosophy: if you could drench another form of music in copious amounts of the blues ethos and character, it would inevitably and undeniably transform into the blues itself. Simply put, The Metal Heart EP is Electric Seed's attempt to fashion a new perspective on the blues, as well as build a musical home for the innovative bluesman: the bluesman that cannot fully express himself in a mere 12 bars.
