This release from 2000 is the first and only release from three sons of Arthur"Big Boy" Crudup. It is rare look at a family that knows and lived the blues. Arthur"Big Boy" Crudup was known as the father of rock & roll, the songs he wrote inspired the young Elvis Presley and many others. That July day at Sun Studio when Elvis kicked in with "That's Alright Mama" some say rock and roll was born. This recording is a not to be repeated event. Since it was released both James Crudup and his brother Jonas Crudup passed away, also piano man Dumpy Rice aka Dinzel Cofy left us.Produced by bass man Tim Drummond it features guitar great Lonnie Mack, The Memphis Horns from Stax and many other great recordings and includes Greg"Fingers" Taylor & Michael Utley from Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. It was nominated in 2002 for Best New Artist Debut by the W.C. Handy Awards. Buy this project from a small label that was able to pull off what will long be know as an important event.

Thanks to Marc.
