There is no substitute for experience – and after 30 years on stage, Roger C. Wade & The Houserockers have nothing left to prove, but plenty to give. Their new album Shake It Loose! celebrates a rare anniversary: three decades of groove, sweat, and tireless blues passion.

From the first notes of “On My Mind” to the relaxed finale of “Late Night Swing,” this album offers exactly the energy and joy of playing that only a well-rehearsed band with real stage experience can deliver. Between robust original compositions and carefully selected covers, jump blues, classic R&B, and piano grooves à la New Orleans are mixed together - with Roger's distinctive vocals and harp playing always at the center.

The regular line-up – Roger C. Wade (vocals, harp), Marion Wade (piano), T-Man Michalke (guitar), Stephan “Roffi” Roffmann (double bass) and Micha Maass (drums) – is joined by top-class guests such as saxophone legends Sax Gordon and Tommy Schneller. Jaska Prepula adds extra depth with his electric bass on three tracks. Shake It Loose! was recorded and mixed with great attention to detail – in the spirit of the old school.

It's more than just an album: it's a celebration pressed onto vinyl. A tribute to the past, but with an eye to the future. And above all, proof of why this band has held its own for 30 years: strong songs, deep feeling, and an unbroken joy in making music.

During the course of time, the Frankfurt City Blues Band has toured all over Germany - for example with concerts at the Open Ohr Festival in Mainz, in the historical music club Onkel Pö in Hamburg together with Vince Weber, at The Factory in Hamburg, in the Mainzer Unterhaus at Rock Against Right in 1979 and at the SWF Blues Festival.

In addition they have made performances on radio and television broadcasts. They have also performed together with blues musicians Alexis Korner, Louisiana Red and Champion Jack Dupree. B.B. & The Blues Shacks - Businessmen

Album: Businessmen
Size: 128,7 MB

File: MP3 @ 320K/s
Released: 2014
Styles: Blues
Art: Full

1. Out Of Tears (3:11)
2. Gimme This, Gimme That (2:51)
3. Take My Name (4:42)
4. Businessmen (3:59)
5. Buckle Up (3:58)

12. Green Eye (2:58)
13. I Overpaid My Dues (3:48)
14. Blues Shadow (4:12)
15. Goodbye Everybody (3:17)

"Businessmen" perfectly reflects the history and artistic growth of Europe's leading blues force, performing a marvelous set of originals in sparkling form, excellent and convincing. Like its predecessor, "Come Along", "Businessmen" was recorded under the supervision of Andreas Wingert at Koka Studios in Vienna, Austria. With the exception of "It Was A Dream", a John Brim Chicago blues classic, all songs were written by Andreas and Michael, the Arlt brothers and founding members of the band. With confidence, competence and power, B.B. & The Blues Shacks are presenting themselves as a straight blues band with some soul notes, showing their enthusiasm and their attention to detail. More than any of their previous studio recordings, "Businessmen" reflects the fascination and energy of their 3,000 plus live performances on international stages on all five continents.

Blues with a capital "B" might be a suitable headline of this production. Drummer Jochen Reich is the band's latest addition. Along with long-time member Henning Hauerken on upright bass and bass guitar he represents the rhythmic force and powerful backbone, delivering new grooves and steady rhythms, providing the playground for soloists such as keyboardist Dennis Koeckstadt and guitarist Andreas Arlt. Fans of Michael Arlt's exquisite art of harmonica playing will enjoy this set. He's playing his heart out! The No Show No Blow Horns deliver that certain something, razor-sharp and accurately arranged horn parts and solos at the highest level – almost an integral part of the musical concept of B.B. & The Blues Shacks.

15. Hope You're Doing Good (4:48)

Following their 35th anniversary, B.B. & The Blues Shacks return with a brand-new studio album titled Blues Is A Stew. The name says it all. Blues, in their hands, is not a rigid formula but a rich stew of carefully selected ingredients, slow-cooked and full of flavor. The Hildesheim-based quintet led by brothers Michael and Andreas Arlt has built an extraordinary career. More than 4,000 live shows around the world, eighteen albums, multiple German Blues Awards, critical acclaim across Europe, and performances in over twenty countries. Blues Is A Stew feels like the sound of a band fully aware of its legacy and still hungry for more.

The album features fifteen outstanding tracks. Original compositions stand shoulder to shoulder with well-chosen cover songs by Lee Diamond, Milton Campbell, B.B. King, and Percy Mayfield. Everything feels perfectly balanced, confident, and deeply rooted in tradition without sounding nostalgic. As on many previous releases, B.B. & The Blues Shacks are joined by a superb guest horn trio of saxophones and trumpets. The horns add warmth and soul, enhancing the band’s trademark blend of blues, rhythm & blues, and classic soul. It’s a vibrant vintage sound that few contemporary bands can deliver with this level of authenticity. /The Blues Magazine

As the name suggests, they dedicated themselves to the harder, rockier blues style, causing quite a stir. Eventually, Berlin's blues lady Kat Baloun encountered the band and spontaneously joined them for a gig.

This has developed into a long-standing friendship, leading to many more joint performances. It's high time to present this lasting musical liaison to a knowledgeable audience!

No sooner said than done: Here comes the project with a lot of blues – but also a lot of rock.

Ray Collins' Hot-Club is without doubt one of Europe's hottest 50's jump-blues bands ever. And after experiencing them, you can say with certainty that they are one of the best in the world. As near a perfect 50's sound as you can get. It's all about swing and rhythm and blues of the highest quality, good-time music with a strong beat.

It's rare that a band of today's lineage is able to generate such an original sound and also manage to capture the spirit of the classic old legends from the 1950s such as Tiny Bradshaw, Joe Houston, Big Jay McNeely, Joe Liggins, Johnny 'Guitar' Watson, Wynonie Harris and Ike Turner & The Kings of Rhythm.

The big swinging 40 piece big band recordings from Ray Collins' Hot Club. Having originally had the idea to record a couple of songs in big band style, the plan became bigger and bigger - and they ended up recording with 40 musicians including strings, harp and timpany. This album is a dream come true for one of the swinginest bands in Europe.

Extraordinary Times (The Duo Sessions) 2020 will go down in history because of the wide-ranging impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mankind. Natural Blues also suffered greatly from this situation. And not only because concerts did not take place due to the lockdown, the current production of this German-Austrian band was also affected by a border closure lasting several weeks. However, with patience and perseverance it was possible to record and produce this EP.

The Natural Blues Duo Norbert Egger (Vocals & Guitars) & Alex Meik (Double Bass, E-Bass & Vocals) - along with their guests - addresses these “EXTRAORDINARY TIMES” in their music. The dramatic global effects of the Corona pandemic, the existential threat for artists, increasing racism culminating in multiple racist murders, the fateful elections, and the shameful behaviour of the outvoted Donald J. Trump were a motivation and provided themes for these songs.

The duo’s music on this “disc” ranges widely, from classical “unplugged” Country and Delta Blues to the street band style of Chicago’s Maxwell Street to modern Blues Rock. And as if this rich variety were not enough for one EP, it is enriched even more by the contributions of the two guest musicians, Hubert Hofherr (Blues Harp) and Michael Alf (Piano)! The lyrics are diverse - the song texts cover political issues, classical Blues lyrics, and love songs.

Whether live or via studio production: you shouldn’t miss out on hearing the Natural Blues Duo Norbert Egger & Alex Meik. Natural Blues is the Blues formation created in Hamburg by Norbert Egger (guitar and vocals) in 1982. Initially intended as a “side project”, with its incredibly diverse power Blues and extravagant show, the band evolved to become a main act.

After the death of the founding member and outstanding Blues harp player Heiko Petcke in 2017, Norbert Egger re-formed and expanded the band. At the new formation, Alex Meik (double bass), Hubert Hofherr (Blues harp), and Stefan Schubert (guitar and vocals) joined the band. Blues from all eras of its history is presented, from the earliest country blues on acoustic instruments to the Blues of the 1920s, Mississippi Delta Blues, Chicago Blues and current Blues Rock. As live act, Natural Blues offers an extraordinary stage performance: it is captivating and entertaining, when band leader Norbert Egger throws his jacket across the stage, letting his slide guitar scream while sliding on his knees or lying on the floor, Hubert Hofherr is doing his magic with the Blues harp, Stefan Schubert conjures up his brilliant solos on the parquet, or the whole band involves the audience as a huge background choir.

Natural Blues is elemental primal power, music and a show really worth listening to, captivating any audience!

Since 1960 he has been saxophonist and composer for the Jazz Ensemble of Hessicher Rundfunk in Frankfurt. From 1960 to 1978 he was a member of the Albert Mangelsdorff Quartet and Quintet, and in 1968 was a member of the German All Stars. In 1974 he formed his first own line-up, Voices. The obvious individuality and artistic intensity of his saxophone playing and his compositions have allowed Sauer to go his own individual way. For this he was recognized by the award of the Jazz Prize of the region of Hessen and in 1999 by the Albert Mangelssdorf Prize.
