The Ventures' 1961 self-titled sophomore LP is a twangy, country-influenced album that builds upon the band's superb 1960 debut, Walk Don't Run. Most the songs here are midtempo numbers with a few uptempo rockers that stand out. As one of the few albums in the Ventures' discography that is not thematically titled, it showcases the band's knack for tackling stylistically diverse music in a way that makes it all sound like Ventures music.
