The Atlantics • Flight Of The Surf Guitar

The Atlantics are an Australian surf rock band founded in 1961. Initially, the band lineup consisted of drummer Peter Hood, bassist Bosco Bosanac, Theo Penglis on lead and rhythm guitar, and guitarist Eddy Matzenik. Matzenik was replaced by Jim Skaithitis while the band was still in its earliest stages. The band's claim to fame was as Australia's most successful of the genre. Most well known for their classic hit, "Bombora", their later recordings such as "Come On" are examples of 1960s garage rock. They were the first Australian rock band to write their own hits. In 2000 the group reformed with three of the original members, and continue to release new material and perform in concert. In 2013 the group celebrated the 50th Anniversary of their first album, Bombora and the eponymous single that was their first to chart. A European tour was organised to mark the occasion.

Martin Cilia (born 1958, Rochford, Essex, England) moved to Perth, Western Australia with his family in January 1968. Cilla is best known for his songwriting skills, and his membership in The Atlantics, where he performs on the guitar. Cilia played his first gig in a school hall in Morley High in 1972 with fellow students. He remembered playing songs by The Shadows, The Monkees, The Beatles, and Cat Stevens songs.

The Surfites se formaron en 2004 por los dos hermanos Jack y Klas Fjellgren, componentes de la banda pionera de surf sueca de los 90, Daytonas, y miembros también de The Angry Breec y The Excelsiors.  Su álbum de debut “Big Pounder” salió en 2007. Le siguió  “Escapades in Space” en 2008, ambos editados en Cd por Double Crown Records. Les acompañaban  Folke Bergkvist al bajo, Gunnar Lindholm a la batería, y Henry Karlsson al piano. En 2010 aportaron varios temas al recopilatorio  “The Surfites & Co.” (Double Crown Records) en el que también estaban compilados cortes de The Excelsiors, The Angry Breed y The Royal Vikings. Ya en 2011 grabaron un single para el mismo sello con los temas “Here She Comes Again / Theme for Surfers”. En la cara A como The RPM’s canta Baron Shivers de The Ghastly Ones. En 2014 compartieron con  The Thunderchiefs un Split en el que los primeros aportaban “This Time Tomorrow” y “Hot Dog On A Stick”.

Satans Pilgrims • Satans Pilgrims

Satan's Pilgrims formed in 1992 during a series of house parties hosted by the members of the band, and were playing shows in their hometown of Portland, Oregon by 1993. Twisting their name from the 60's AIP film "Satan's Sadists" and donning their now familiar matching outfits complete with vampire capes, they became a band.

The Pilgrims are one of the most influential surf instrumental bands around and while much of their sound has a definite Southern California influence, what sets them apart is the legacy of their Pacific Northwest rock 'n' roll ancestors and other influences, creating their own sub-genre of surf instrumental that many fans call "Pilgrim Rock".

This, along with three distinct guitarists and a relentless rhythm section, gives their live set a dazzling variety of dance party sounds to choose from, while maintaining their patented haunted sound. After years of touring, taking the band all over the U.S. and Europe (including a now legendary show in Slovenia), Satan's Pilgrims continued to develop the surf instrumental genre.

November 2000 marked the beginning of a hiatus, as drummer Ted Pilgrim moved from Portland to Memphis, TN to sweat, get autographs from all of his Soul and early Rock n' Roll heroes, and eat Bar-B-Q. Meanwhile, 9 Pilgrim offspring were birthed to various members.

After a few years of changing diapers, Musick Records announced that they wanted to release a retrospective culled from the Pilgrims' original five albums. With renewed interest in the band sweeping the surf message boards on the internet, the

With the release of Plymouth Rock-The Best of Satan's Pilgrims" in December of 2004, it turns out that the Pilgrims haunted brand of driving-guitar, dance-party music has endured into the 21st century. Without a single live appearance by the band since 2000, this album has gained more critical acclaim and worldwide notice for them than all of their original releases did during the surf-bombardment of the 1990s.

In 2005, they reunited for the first time in their hometown of Portland, OR. Since then, they have played many shows and in 2009, recorded "Psychsploitation" a new album of psychedelic influenced instrumentals on their own SP Records.

On Halloween night, 2013, SP will be celebrating their 20th Anniversary with an appearance at Portland's Crystal Ballroom.

The rest of the world is still catching on to what only some knew 20 years ago. That is, if you want a surfy, spooky, garage-stompin' good time, put on Satan's Pilgrims.

Wadadli Riders • Made in Antigua

Wadadli Riders have been the first instrumental surf band born in the Caribbean. "Wadadli" is actually the ancient name of the island of Antigua where the two guys moved from Italy in 2004.
The band has been touring Europe and USA several times releasing one full album, "Made in Antigua", and two EPs, "Surf Music Kings of the Caribbean" and "Rev Hank meets Wadadli Riders". Wadadli Riders existed until late 2010. After that Lorenzo moved back to Italy continuing his career as Surfer Joe.

The Bent Scepters made their debut in 1996 with Blind Date with Destiny, an album similar to the recordings of such bands as Weezer. While the record suffers from too many instrumentals and occasionally naïve lyrics, it is clear that the group didn't have any intentions other than having the listeners have as much fun as they were having while recording. These "party" songs, such as the irresistible "Take it Like a Man" and the rowdy tune "Gassed," all sound unique in their own way despite the fact that they are all quite short and are highlighted by similar guitar rhythms. It may not be a classic release of the '90s, but Blind Date with Destiny has enough catchy melodies to have fans of the genre looking forward to the Bent Scepter's next release.

Los Bent Scepters debutaron en 1996 con Blind Date with Destiny, un álbum similar a las grabaciones de grupos como Weezer. Aunque el disco adolece de demasiados instrumentales y de letras ocasionalmente ingenuas, está claro que el grupo no tenía más intención que la de hacer que los oyentes se divirtieran tanto como ellos durante la grabación. Surf Instrumental Band "The Farfisas" is the latest brain child of native New Yorker Rick Horvath. Rick got the inspriration to create and record surf music while hosting a weekly surf radio program "The Shrunken Head Lounge" (http://theshrunkenheadlounge.com). Performing all the instruments himself, Rick assumes the identity of guitarist Frankie Farfisa and actually interviews Frankie on Youtube.
