Hambone Relay • Free Hugs

With elements of blues, jazz, funk and rock & roll, Hambone Relay redefines the modern organ trio with their unique brand of improvisational jam music. Since their founding in 2012, the band has played between 75-100 shows a year and have shared the stage with such great bands as Melvin Seals and JGB, Cris Jacobs, The James Hunter 6 and New Orleans legends Rebirth Brass Band.
The band was founded in 2012 by organist Mark Brown. He began his career playing keyboards with the Baltimore-based jam band The Bridge. The band began playing a handful of shows and festivals and started to gain some recognition in the area. This would eventually lead to them recording their first album. The self-titled LP would feature 8 brand new original songs and 2 covers recorded live. This first album featured Devin Coleman on guitar and Kyle Moken on drums.
Shortly after recording this first album, the band went on a brief hiatus and returned a few months later with new guitarist, John Udinsky and drummer Rob Tait. Their touring schedule picked up quite a bit in 2016 and the band began playing cities such as Richmond, Charlottesville, Baltimore, New York, Burlington and Washington DC, growing a fan base and beginning to work on new material. In November of 2016, Hambone Relay released their second LP, “Free Hugs”. The album included 10 brand new originals featuring the guitar skills of John Udinsky and the sheer energy of Rob Tait on drums with Brown at the helm behind the Hammond B3. After releasing “Free Hugs” the band toured the East Coast frequently for the next year and a half.
On February 16, 2018, Hambone Relay played WXPN’s “Free At Noon” concert to a packed house at World Cafe Live. John Udinsky had left the band and Luke Ferracone of The Groove Merchants had taken his place. The band shared the stage with British R&B singer James Hunter which would lead to a short tour in supporting The James Hunter 6 playing City Winery in New York City and MusikFest Cafe in Bethlehem, PA. Following this successful run, the band would hit the road for the rest of 2018 growing and writing new music along the way.
In 2019, Hambone Relay finished recording their third studio effort which had been over a year in the making. The album titled “Say Hi To Earl” was released on May 3, 2019 and features 8 brand new songs plus one cover of Ray Charles’ anthem “Let’s Go Get Stoned”. The track showcases friend and talented musician from Baltimore, Jordan August on lead vocals with scorching bluesy backing vocals from Philly’s own Emily Drinker. “Say Hi To Earl” is available on CD, digital download and vinyl.
In early 2021, the band relocated to Los Angeles and continues to record and play shows on both coasts. More dates are being released frequently and new music is currently in the works, set for release in 2021 and 2022. Their live shows are a mixture of danceable grooves, psychedelic overtones and improvisational jams.

The Sound Stylistics • Greasin' The Wheels
This group consists of some of the best musicians on the planet, and a veritable who’s who on the London funk scene, featuring the classic JTQ rhythm section of James Taylor (organ), Gary Crockett (bass) and Neil Robinson (drums) alongside guitarists Eddie Roberts (New Mastersounds) and Mark Van der Gucht (Galliano).
They are joined by Fender Rhodes phenomenon Jim Watson (Brand New Heavies, Incognito and Zero 7) and the heavyweight horns of Dominic Glover (trumpet - Brand New Heavies & Incognito), Andy Ross (sax - The Herbaliser), Mike Smith (Sax - Jamiroquai) and Nichol Thompson (trombone - Brand New Heavies & Incognito). The album 'Play Deep Funk' also has percussion from the legendary Snowboy, additional drums from Simon Lee (Dr. Seuss) and guest vocals from Noel McKoy.
Collectively they make up The Sound Stylistics, a jam band of the highest order.

The band have fused all their favourite influences together throughout this album, from film soundtracks, latin jazz to psychedelic soul to great effect. The highlights include the opening track ‘Tie One On’ which is a nod to the soul jazz sound of the Prestige label circa late 60’s, pumping drums sit underneath a crisp, irresistible horn riff that guitarist Al Cherry rides with an inimitable solo rooted in the style of legends like Cornell Dupree and Phil Upchurch and it’s pure dance floor magic.

The Filthy Six • The Filthy Six
The Filthy Six are the most exciting, authentic Soul Jazz outfit in the UK today and have established themselves as one of the most electric live acts on the scene. Their soaring horns, blistering guitar and gut-wrenching Hammond are fuelled by one of the hardest grooving rhythm sections around producing a hip-shakingly powerful mixture of jazz, funk and boogaloo totally in keeping with the finest traditions of the Blue Note sound. These instrumental groove merchants fuse boundless energy and incredible musicianship to create tight, funky music that moves the mind, body and soul whilst simultaneously tearing the roof off every venue they play!
Led by trumpeter Nick Etwell (Tom Jones, Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons) this crack unit of erudite musical gunslingers have played with some of the biggest names in music, including Amy Winehouse, Mavis Staples, Jill Scott, Beck, Mark Ronson, Jack White, Dionne Warwick, Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, David Axelrod, Ronnie Spector, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Basement Jaxx, Spiritualized, 4hero, Atomic Bomb Band, Madness, Galactic and the James Taylor Quartet to name but a few. From their literal 'underground' beginnings down at the infamous Tatty Bogle Club, deep beneath the heart of London's Soho, the band built up a faithful following at their monthly 'Thursday Boogaloo' sessions in the mid 00's. Moving above ground and into venues across London and beyond they gained notoriety for the intensity of their live shows. This reputation took them up and down the country and out into the festival arena, spreading the Filthy gospel even further afield as they went. After signing to Acid Jazz Records in 2009 the boys released their debut LP 'The Filthy Six' in June 2010, attracting new fans and rave reviews in the process. The next couple of years saw the recording of 'live' sessions for Mark Lamarr (Radio2), Robert Elms (BBC London) and the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show (6Music) for BBC Radio as well as performing a series of scintillating festival sets including the London, Marlborough, Greenwich, Ealing, Reading and Isle of Wight Jazz Festivals; Vintage at Goodwood (where they also backed up Northern Soul legend Ann Sexton), Edinburgh Festival, St Paul Soul Jazz Festival (France) and a headline slot at the Jazz Lounge, Glastonbury. The Filthy horns also squeezed in a little hop across the pond to join Brit funkateers The New Mastersounds at one of their legendary 'House Of Blues' (NOLA) sets at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. In between all of this they topped the bill at the Acid Jazz 21st Anniversary show, recorded a second album and still found time to bring the house down at some of London’s most discerning music venues; Jazz Café, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Cargo, Vortex and the world famous Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club. 2012 saw the bands second release for Acid Jazz - 'The Fox' - garner plaudits from scenesters and critics alike, including 'Album of the week' on Jazz FM. An 11 date tour of the UK and Ireland followed, proving to further their reputation as a live act not to be missed. The past few years have been busy with in excess of 100 gigs; highlights of which have included 3 *Sold Out* shows for the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club - in London (twice) and Manchester; 2 *Sold Out* shows at the Pizza Express Jazz Club, London; a headline slot at the Isle Of Wight Festival (Jazz Stage); short runs in France and Spain, as well as their first gigs in the USA. In 2014 the band completed 3 Tours over 6 months in the US - two extended trips across the 'Dirty South' and a 4 date run around New York - recording 'live' sessions for KUT Radio (Austin TX), Daytrotter (Nashville TN), The Birthplace Sessions (Tupelo MS), Spectra Sonic Sound Sessions (Birmingham AL) and the Echo Sessions, set in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. 2015 brought the release of 2 short films documenting their Filthy fun and frolics across The South (with the help of their good friends at Stetson), the completion of their 3rd studio album, a series of monthly nights at the Brooklyn Bowl, London, and a run of After-show gigs for the Mumford & Sons 'Gentlemen Of The Road' festivals in the US. March 2016 saw the release of a third studio album on Acid Jazz Records - More Filth - with tours in both the US and UK through April and May. Undoubtedly their Filthiest yet, the record was scientifically engineered to have you moving and grooving so hard you'll burn holes in not 1 but 2 pairs of boots and a large chunk of that dancefloor! March 2016 saw the release of a third studio album on Acid Jazz Records - More Filth - with tours in both the US and UK through April and May. The Filthy Six son el grupo de Soul Jazz más excitante y auténtico del Reino Unido y se han establecido como uno de los actos en vivo más eléctricos de la escena. Sus vientos, sus guitarras y su Hammond son alimentados por una de las secciones rítmicas más duras que existen, produciendo una poderosa mezcla de jazz, funk y boogaloo, totalmente en consonancia con las mejores tradiciones del sonido Blue Note. The Fantastics! • All The People
The Fantastics! first began to take shape in 2003 after organist/pianist Greg Boraman departed the ranks of the acclaimed deep funk outfit The Soul Destroyers (Jazzman Records) and answered the call to fill the keyboard seat in Reverend Cleatus & The Soul Saviours, the previous incarnation of the band that released their debut album 2LBs Of Funk on French label Soul Cookers Records.
Whilst the band indeed loved heavy funk with a passion, they also wanted to incorporate other styles that had shaped their open minded musical lives: jazz, Brazilian, afrobeat, rhythm & blues, rock, boogie, latin, reggae: the full spectrum of influences which each musician individually brought to the table! Finding that they soon tired of the narrow and formulaic restrictions that the purely retro funk genre saddled them with, and a new plan began to come together.
Changing their name to The Fantastics!, they re-launched with the Cheeba's Couch 45 (on Raw Wax), an aggressive funk-rock assault to highlight a deliberate widening of musical textures and influences the band were eager to explore. Freestyle Records founder Adrian Gibson picked up the band and the resulting debut album Mighty Righteous won plaudits from entities such as Wax Poetics, legendary DJ Bob Jones and BBC Radio 2's Mark Lamarr who invited the band in to perform live sessions twice for his God's Jukebox show, who all appreciated the more varied musical horizon the group were reaching for.
Now in 2011, The Fantastics second album is another step in the London band's long musical journey. The musical transition continues on All The People which features vocalist Sulene Fleming on several tracks, one of the UK's most versatile and capable singers of her generation! Add to this great musicianship and strong original compositions such as Somewhere Finally, the shimmering and beautiful summer love song that drips with deep soulful, horn hook lines, and of course Sulenes' soaring vocals, the moody and atmospheric Know No Gods, the southern blues inflected groove of Cold Case and the full on, strident funk-rock grit of I Breath all demonstrate how The Fantastics! have finally arrived at their musical destination with a highly eclectic sound for today which pays respect to the past without being shackled to it.

The Fantastics! empezó a tomar forma en 2003 después de que el organista/pianista Greg Boraman dejara las filas del aclamado grupo de deep funk The Soul Destroyers (Jazzman Records) y respondiera a la llamada para ocupar el puesto de teclista en Reverend Cleatus & The Soul Saviours, la anterior encarnación de la banda que lanzó su álbum debut 2LBs Of Funk en el sello francés Soul Cookers Records.

El fundador de Freestyle Records, Adrian Gibson, se hizo cargo de la banda y el álbum de debut resultante, Mighty Righteous, se ganó los aplausos de entidades como Wax Poetics, el legendario DJ Bob Jones y Mark Lamarr de la BBC Radio 2, quien invitó a la banda a realizar sesiones en vivo dos veces para su show God's Jukebox, quienes apreciaron el más variado horizonte musical que el grupo estaba alcanzando.
Ahora en 2011, el segundo álbum de The Fantastics es otro paso en el largo viaje musical de la banda londinense. The Sound Stylistics • Play Deep Funk
This group consists of some of the best musicians on the planet, and a veritable who’s who on the London funk scene, featuring the classic JTQ rhythm section of James Taylor (organ), Gary Crockett (bass) and Neil Robinson (drums) alongside guitarists Eddie Roberts (New Mastersounds) and Mark Van der Gucht (Galliano).
They are joined by Fender Rhodes phenomenon Jim Watson (Brand New Heavies, Incognito and Zero 7) and the heavyweight horns of Dominic Glover (trumpet - Brand New Heavies & Incognito), Andy Ross (sax - The Herbaliser), Mike Smith (Sax - Jamiroquai) and Nichol Thompson (trombone - Brand New Heavies & Incognito). The album 'Play Deep Funk' also has percussion from the legendary Snowboy, additional drums from Simon Lee (Dr. Seuss) and guest vocals from Noel McKoy.
Collectively they make up The Sound Stylistics, a jam band of the highest order.
