With 85 tracks spread out over three discs, Love to See You Strut offers hours of mod-adjacent sounds from the 1960s, with inclusions from some of the best-known bands of the time and far more obscure acts alike. The compilation is divided into three areas of specific focus. The first disc collects 29 tracks from R&B/beat bands who got steady airplay in the early-to-mid-'60s club scene. This includes a pre-prog version of the Moody Blues, Dusty Springfield, Midwestern soul sensation Geno Washington, an instrumental organ workout on "Turn On Your Lovelight" by Wynder K Frog, tunes from Manfred Mann, previously unreleased tracks from beat acts the SW4 and the Trendbender Band, and many other songs designed for dancing and swinging. Disc two progresses more into the mod era, with familiar names like the Who, the Kinks, Small Faces, and the Zombies showing up alongside less celebrated mod artists like the Profile and the Uprooted. Things get more fiery as the compilation goes on, with the third segment showcasing increasingly psychedelic and far-out tracks from the Action, pre-T. Rex act John's Children, Spooky Tooth, the Creation, and so much more. Love to See You Strut offers a more-than-adequate starting point for anyone looking for an overview of how early beat music got freakier and freakier as the beat went on, with enough rarities for the well-versed and enough all-time classics for beginners.

Rhino's nine-volume British Invasion: The History of British Rock is the most exhaustive and essential overview of '60s British pop/rock available. Although the collection doesn't include tracks from the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Herman's Hermits, the Dave Clark Five, and the early Animals, their absence doesn't hurt the series, since it spotlights several artists who never had more than a handful of hits, plus many forgotten gems. And there are plenty of major acts here, as well: The Kinks, the Small Faces, the Yardbirds, Donovan, the Hollies, the Zombies, the Spencer Davis Group, the Searchers, Manfred Mann, and Them are all represented by their best-known tracks. The collection runs from the beginnings of Merseybeat to the aftermath of psychedelia, meaning that it chronicles the evolution of British pop/rock quite effectively. But The History of British Rock shouldn't be thought of as simply an educational overview of one of the most vital eras of pop; each volume is fun and exciting, and sounds more like a good time than a history lesson. The series is one of the cornerstones of any comprehensive pop/rock collection.

This album was released in November 1999 in conjunction with V2 Records as a collection of some of the classic tracks that have been essential to the sound and legend of the Blow Up club, and as a result the compilation has become legendary in its own right.

Covering Sixties Soul and R'nB, Dancefloor Jazz, Easy Listening, Northern Soul, Soundtracks, Gritty Hammond Grooves, and featuring classics both new and old that have filled the Blow Up Dancefloor over the years, Blow Up A-Go-Go! introduced such delights as The Quik's 60s mod classic 'Bert's Apple Crumble', The Kinks B-Side 'She's Got Everything', Jacques DuTronc's 'Le Responsable' and more to a much wider audience for the first time. Since its release, many of the tracks have become even more recognisable from their subsequent use on various TV adverts.

The compilation takes its title from the second track 'Blow Up A-Go-Go!' which was taken from another label compilation Blow Up presents Exclusive Blend Volume 2. The track was originally entitled 'Wild Elephants' (early pressings of Exclusive Blend list this original title) but was renamed as a thank-you after the track was picked up from the album and used by Gap jeans in their  'Khaki-A-Go-Go' 1999 TV ad campaign.
